Mock Tribunal Time Again………….

It’s always good to keep up to date with legislation in my field but I love nothing more than the annual CIPD Mock Tribunal.

This event is with a real tribunal panel and based on a real case that has been anonymised.  This year we are hearing a case on Unfair Dismissal that resulted in summary dismissal for an employee who made derogatory remarks about a colleague race. It should be a good one……………….

I am up to my ears researching currently but watch this space for updates!

Oh it was a good one and a cracking result indeed as my argument was different to the original case and the judges were pleased with my different approach using a different angle. This goes to demonstrate that there is often more than one way to win a case. Of course all of this takes an enormous amount of time and energy, hence why it is so expensive to defend a claim. It is always better to try and resolve any issues before you end up in a tribunal hearing but unfortunately that is not always possible for a variety of reasons.

If you would like some advice on any employment matters then I am happy to have a discovery meeting to see if I can be of help and maybe offer you some alternative views.
